Bio
Aside from living in Oregon for one year, I have been raised in California. There has been a passion for writing within me since a child. There have been two poems turned into songs. (Although I am quite sure they are now elevator music). When my son was a baby, I have also won a photo contest.
My background is in medical, however, since the birth of my son, I have chose to be a stay-at-home mom. It has proven to be the best decision of my life (almost. haha). I love putting my family first. I want my son to grow up remembering when I was there for him. Besides, with all of his school injuries and illnesses, and the amount of time I would have to take leave, I would have been fired from every job anyways.
I am currently sharing my passion for writing and creativity with my son. This is our first book written together.
The birth of all books have a story. This story is very personal and fun. My son was home from school from October to January this year. He had a serious head injury while on recess. On the way to one of his doctor's appointments in November, he looked up and said, "Mom, Today I Want to Eat a Cloud". I was so happy to hear him starting to get his sense of humor back. I told him what a funny story that would be for children. During our hour drive to the doctor's office, we thought of all kinds of funny scenarios he could get into if he did eat a cloud. The book, itself, took only hours to write. However, all of the illustrations, placement, and adding ideas took many months. Four months to be exact. Every draft we hoped will be the last, but we kept finding tiny details that needed to be fixed.
My son was very active not only in the concepts, but also in the editing. I will share one funny mistake. He wanted to be inside of the cloud; wondering if people would see him. (Yes, the little boy in the book looks like my son). Well, I had his face, a little bit of the neck and arms coming out of the cloud. I was thrilled. However, when my son was proofing the book, he screamed "You made me naked". I laughed, of course, but when I looked at it again. Yep, it did look like he was naked. So, I lowered the cloud and made it obvious he had a shirt on.
I am sure that this book will get laughs from you and the children it is read to. Thank you so much for your interest in me--as an author, and for your interest in our book. If you choose to purchase one of our books, please leave your honest feedback on one of the review sites: Amazon, Good Reads, Barnes & Nobel, etc
Thank you again for visiting my site. I hope that you have a wonderful day.
