Bio
My work with adolescents began in 1975. Kids are still at risk and they still possess an innate resiliency that gives them an ability to rebound and recover from any problem life puts in their way. Kids are increasingly stressed out or forgotten about in today's world. The result is a generation of hurting kids looking for something to take away the pain. All too often, that relief is found in getting high and drunk. That's the bad news. The good news is that kids still respond to care and concern, an open heart and a willingness to listen.
I have personal experience with a child who loves to get high. Getting high was so important to him, he was able to keep it a secret from my wife and I for three years. He is now grown and finding success however, through this experience, I have learned to respect the power of the loving to get high syndrome with all of its characteristics and want to share it with you.
