Bio
Tina Lee was born Thanksgiving in 1990 in Reston, Virginia, just minutes from the influential city of Washington, D.C. She grew up inspired by the many art museums in the city and historical artists they revealed. She began her high school education at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts in Saint Petersburg, Florida, where she majored in Visual Arts and often spent her weekends at the Morean Arts Center studying figurative drawing. Inspired by Transcendentalist artists of the 1800’s and Famous Landscape photographer Ansel Adams, she started to explore photography and the subject of nature. In 2009, she had her first solo show at the Morean Arts Center in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
She continued her artistic education under the training of renowned figurative artists William Otremsky at Florida Southern College. She graduated with a dual B.F.A in Fine Arts and Graphic Design. During her education she was featured in multiple shows at the Melvin Art Gallery for her fine art prints, design concepts, and paintings. In 2010 Tina interned for the Imperial Symphony Orchestra as their Art Director for their 2011 Opera Event. She was awarded the John R. Reuter Grant in 2013 for best in show at a group showcase for her large-scale landscape paintings, and distinguished painting style.
Since then she has worked at the New Orleans Fine Arts Academy, where she had the pleasure of studying under Carol Peebles and Bill Solitario. She also worked at the Garden District Gallery as the Gallery Curator, and volunteer at the New Orleans Museum of Fine Art. After her wedding in 2014, she moved to Fort Hood, Texas where her husband serves in U.S Army. She is working on a new series titled “The Textures of Texas” which she hopes to complete by September 2015.
