Bio
I’ve been a teacher all my life. I started my teaching career as an English teacher at The Pingry School in New Jersey. Along the way I picked up a M.A. from The Bread Loaf School of English, where I finally learned how to teach. I left Pingry to enter a Ph.D. program at Princeton and started teaching English, Humanities and Theater at Newark Academy in New Jersey after I’d passed my qualifying exams (I received my Ph.D. in English in 1976).
I left secondary education in 1981 to start my own corporate consulting company, Horizons Unlimited Inc., in 1985. Since then I’ve increasingly specialized in designing complex blended learning systems for corporate clients, combining the best ideas I can find from both “high tech” and “high touch” adult learning.
I completed the circle in 1999 when I joined the Board of Trustees of The Wilson School in Mountain Lakes, NJ, an innovative Pre-K to 8th grade Independent School.
My wife JoAnn and I live in a 1735 farm house we’ve been restoring since 1987. I have two daughters, Mary Behr and Jenny Behr Wilson (husband Jordan) and one charming grandchild, Maggie Grace Wilson.
