Bio
Ok, so I’ve decided to start writing a little. Tried this once before and got off track. What happened with that, in a nutshell: Depression sucks, and if you’ve never dealt with it, then there is no way you understand what those of us who do deal with it, go through. I will write about sports in general, mostly baseball and football (Royals and Chiefs), and about current events. And sometimes, just stupid junk that wanders around in my brain.
First off, I’ll tell you a little about myself and my passions. I’m sure you’ll get to hear about some of my pet peeves sometime, too. But here we go….
I’m 46, birthday is August 29, 1967. Born in Kansas City, Mo. My family moved to Cameron, Mo. when I was very small, then to Gallatin, Mo. for a few years where I went to kindergarten and 1st grade. Then moved back to Cameron in my 2nd grade year, and ended up graduating from there in 1985. Entered the United States Army in August of the same year. Spent a couple of years in Germany with the 2nd Armored Division (Fwd) based at Lucius D. Clay Kaserne in Garlstedt, Germany. Transferred to Ft. Bragg, NC and spent a year there, where I met my first wife. After that I was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wa. for 2 years. Divorced, raised my daughter, with MUCH help from my family. Couple MORE marriages (yeah, yeah, I know…. THREE marriages??? Yeah. Three. Oh well, live, love, and learn.)
This next part is VERY IMPORTANT, just for a little insight into the heart of me… I will generally NOT be striving to be “PC”, though it’s never my intent to offend or hurt anyone. But I may, now and then, rub you the wrong way. Take it with a grain (or a spoonfull) of salt, and if you don’t like my thoughts, think I’m offensive, whatever, then just don’t read my page. I won’t be offended, to each his own.
Throughout my 46 years I have had many wonderful friends of ALL races and ethnicity, so when you read some of my posts, please don’t be offended, it’s truly not intended in any kind of hurtful or demeaning way towards anyone. Honestly.
I have been a KC Royals fan ever since I can remember. Why, you ask? Well, it’s a sentimental thing. My dad (Rest in peace, Dad, I love you and miss you) was a Royals fan. The Royals weren’t on tv much in the 70′s, sometimes the away games were, but for the most part it was radio. My dad and I spent countless evenings on the front step with the transistor radio listening to Denny Matthews doing play-by-play of the games, playing catch, and talking.
In 1985, when the Royals won it all, I had no idea they were in the playoff race, much less the World Series, since I was in Basic Training. So I’ve always kind of felt like I missed out that year. Since then, obviously, I’ve been pining for a repeat, waiting, and waiting, …… and waiting………. and waiting some more, LOL!
Also been a Chiefs fan my whole life. Same thing, basically. Don’t remember the Super Bowl trips, since I was just a baby then.
Very passionate about things I believe in. Mom and Dad raised me to treat a lady like a lady, always open the door for a lady, and to treat women with the respect they deserve. I believe in: treating others how you would like to be treated, smiles and laughter help heal the heart, a handshake is a man’s word, a hanging curveball is as beautiful as a 60 yard touchdown pass, but not as beautiful as a pregnant woman, or the smile of a child, and there is nothing more pleasing to my ears as a child’s laughter.
Basically, my life philosophy is the book “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten”, by Robert Fulghum.
Feel free to comment, like, or share my thoughts, but if you do, be nice. Don’t be rude, don’t harass or troll me or any of my readers. If you do that, your rude comments will be deleted, and you will be banished forever. So be nice, mmmmkay?
