Bio
This blog honors how the people I love lived and entertained in the upper Midwest, along the Lake Michigan shore, in a suburb just north of Milwaukee and in Chicago, northern Wisconsin and the Twin Cities. But this site is also about exploring even earlier eras, the celebrations, honored recipes, traditions and ways of life that many now seem to have left behind.
In writing and preserving these traditions, one finds that there is a grace in starting from scratch and learning that it isn't that hard to do things the old fashioned way, with practice.
In addition to these interests, I run the small business Trumpeter Hill, Writing, Editing and Public Relations. There I provide innovative writing, promotions and skilled communications management. A portfolio is available at amyomara.webs.com/portfolio.htm.
