Bio

My name is Tony Triolo. I live in Madison, Alabama which is just west of Huntsville, the Rocket City. I have been a professional photographer for over 30 years. Photography started out to be a hobby for me. My degree from Clemson University is in architecture, but after three years of working as a draftsman-apprentice, I realized, that what I really wanted to do, was to follow my passion - photography. I began my career as a staff photographer for the Huntsville Times, advancing to chief photographer, and finally, to photo editor. In 1993, after 20 years, I left the Times to move to Luxembourg, where my wife was offered a job with NATO. While there, I worked as a freelance photographer for several English language publications and I also taught photography at the American International School there. On returning to the United States in 1997, I was hired to direct the photographic engineering documentation group at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. During my tenure at NASA, I managed the teams of photographers and videographers responsible for accurately recording on film and tape, the critical scientific research occurring at the Center. While at NASA, I directed Marshall’s transition from a film, to an all-digital environment. I left NASA in 2007, and I am currently doing commercial and portrait photography (triolophotography.com) based out of Madison and serving all of northern Alabama. I also own and operate a local professional film scanning service called White Glove Scanning (whiteglovescanning.com). My fine art photo gallery is located at the Lowe Mill (Studio 129) in Huntsville, Alabama.
