Bio
Hey everyone! My name is Peggy and I am 36 years old. I am living with mental illness everyday and hope that my blogs will offer help and solace to others living with the same condition. I was first diagnosed with OCD and depression my last semester of college at UCF in 1999 and subsequently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, severe anxiety, agoraphobia, panic attacks, psychogenic seizures, and conversion disorder throughout the following years (wow, I hope I covered them all). I have been stigmatized since my first diagnosis from so many people. I have lost jobs, friends and even family members because of my mental health disorders. My goal is to Break the Stigma associated with mental illness. I hope in the future to advocate for better treatment for those that have mental health issues, educate the uneducated and spread the word that not all those that suffer from this disease are criminals, deviants and lazy folks. Thanks for visiting my blog and please share what you learn here with others. I have also created a blue bracelet recently (who hasn't yet right?) with the phrase Break The Stigma and am selling them for $4. All donations benefit my local NAMI group. Contact me please if you are interested in sporting one of these groovy bracelets. If you feel like helping this cause in any other way, please visit your local NAMI organization.
