Bio
Born with a highly sensitive soul, I was driven by the providence to embrace a calling to keep body and soul together least bothering for the muffled voice of my psyche which craved for its expression in the domain of the world of art and literature. All was going on well till a severe jolt was received from the Supreme Commander’s fiat that left a void and wounds that were not to be filled up or healed by Time. Then I turned to rhymes and the lava of my pent up feelings found an outlet and left me calmer.
All the stirrings of life which had been recorded by the seismograph of my sensibility and all the past memories, past experiences vied with each other to find a tongue through my writing. I marshalled them out in an orderly way in place of assisting them in turning loose. The calling of a Revenue Official dealing with Taxation laws relating to collection of taxes [as also one engaged in more arduous task of discharding more mundane a task not lesser that checking cross border smuggling of goods, narcotics, arms, fake currency notes along the Indo Nepal border] was different from that of a person engaged in being a vehicle of expression of scars and ravages inflicted by Time.
Answering the call to Muse turned out to be a rich experience which had proved to be a self rewarding venture which is priceless and enduring.
While introducing the backdrop of my turning to creative writings I would like to acknowledge my father Late Bishwanath Singh who himself had been a provincial Excise official but he always encouraged me to scale the Everest and I also my late mother Hirajhari devi who always stood to extend her motherly affection and sought the blessings of all the elders so that I could emerge a successful man after I leave the University.
Contrasted against the backdrop of the maddening plethora of Tariffs, Manuals, Acts, Rules, Judicial Pronouncements, EX-CUS [Excise & Customs] reports, after having worked as Customs Officer, Central & GST Officer for 35 years, lately resolved to ensure the revival of my creative and other pursuits including those related to academic pursuits after about 4 decades of famished academic obsessions. Now I could give a tongue to my hankerings for self expressions which remained buried deep within since 1983.
I would like to post my creative writing here so that connoisseus of poetry could savour the creations of my “poetic misadventure”. I bow to Lord Ganesh to shower his blessings when I start my venture after three and half years of my severance from the academic world and my dissociation from the domain of the enlightened souls.
