Going to college can be the cause of worry and apprehension to a high school graduate the uncertainty of what lies beyond the walls of colleges and universities is frightening to almost every one when the important decisive questions remain unanswered "What university to join? What to major in? Will I make any friends? Where to go? Whom to turn to for advice?" Should we choose future financial stability over personal interest? So many what’s, where’s and why’s, yet very few answers especially the honest, convincing ones.
Indeed Education, Globe Magazine,Globe:University Guidance & Career Counseling Program and Globe Today Education Website will shed a neutral light on many such questions, to give YOU, high school students a clear perspective of what is ahead and to help you make the right choices.
Indeed Education, Globe Magazine,Globe:University Guidance & Career Counseling Program and Globe Today Education Website will not campaign for a specific institute, nor will it promote a major and demote another. The impartial and unprejudiced opinions within the pages of our magazine, as well as our website have only the students’ interest at heart; and thus, it might very well, be considered a student’s as well as parents’ handbook of higher education and career orientation.
Our Student Orientation Programs are designed to help new students answer all of those questions. High school students will be given a general overview of university life, from academics to social activities, over a period of several days referred to as orientation period. Our team will coordinate the orientation programs with the schools.., the format of our orientation will vary from school to another depending on the size and target of the institution, nevertheless it will touch on several very essential topics including:
- The different faculties and majors.
- Are the information found in university handbooks, leaflets and websites always clear and straightforward?
- Why are diplomas obtained from certain universities regarded as inadequate and unacceptable by the Educational System?
- What sets one university above another?
- Is the most expensive university always the best university?
- Financial Aid, what is it? Who is eligible for it? How to benefit from it and when?
- The university Credit System. What is it? What to expect.
- The pros and cons of having a job and attending a university at the same time.
- The prerequisites for admission to public and/or private universities; both locally and internationally, their admission exams, and dates.
- Technical Diploma Holders, what higher institute to join.
- International universities abroad: which to choose, entrance exams, visas, tuition, and living expense.
The Team at Globe: University Guidance & Career Counseling Program will hold meetings, seminars, and group discussions with high school student or one-to-one meetings with students and parents if the need arises, to help university education seekers choose the best and most appropriate major/career.

An important academic component of orientation is to offer the new students the criteria they need to make the transition from high school to college. By giving them a strong overview of academic expectations, students will be better prepared to meet the challenges of university life. Therefore, and in order to present an accurate and truthful image of an institution, both the academic and social components must be included in the orientation program.

With proper planning, orientation would definitely reduce anxieties as it puts new college and university students on the road to success.
