Bio
This is the official Facebook page for the University of Ottawa Young Liberals. Our campus club is recognized by the Ontario Young Liberals (OYL) and the Young Liberals of Canada (YLC), and works to promote Liberal values on campus. We offer a bridge between the party and the students of uOttawa by promoting volunteer opportunities in elections and party events, such as Summer Fling, Biennial Convention, and the OLP AGM.
The club was founded by Doug Ferguson in 1975. He later served as President of the Liberal Party of Canada and remains a strong supporter of our club activities. Liberals, including Dalton McGuinty and Paul Martin, have studied, advocated, and campaigned on our campus. We are prepared to work to elect Liberal governments which will prioritize economically sound policies, social justice, environmental protections, and cooperative foreign policy.
As a member of the UOYL, you will have opportunities to meet other Young Liberals at the number of social events we hold throughout the year, such as Red Week, pub nights, and trivia nights. Furthermore, as an active Liberal on our campus, you’ll have the opportunity to network with MPs and MPPs, political staffers, and panel experts at our many discussion panels and speaking events.
Email ottawa@campus.oyl.org to find out how to get involved and to be notified of upcoming events. Come join us as we endeavour to engage students in the political process and make a difference in our country.
