I am Valerie, and I am <i>awesome!!</i> The profile picture I've used is my first picture, the one they took at the hospital when I was born. Wasn't I cute? I'm ugly now that I'm all grown up, though. Too bad.
I'm at the beginning of my 35th year on this planet. I was born and raised in Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC. I have one sister who's 18 months younger than me, and I have two parents. All of them live in Maryland still. I live in North Carolina with my husband. His name is Kel, or Kelly, and he's 33. We have no kids and no plans for them, unless I can talk Kel into wanting to adopt some. I'd love to take in a few kids who need a stable set of two good parents, but he's not into it, so it's all good. We'll have a great life regardless of what we choose.
I'm not currently employed. This is in part because there is no public transportation here in the Raleigh area--at least not anything even remotely close to what we had back in the DC area. I loved the Ride-On bus. We only have one car, and with a one-person income, it's hard to save up enough money to get a second one. So, for now, I'm a happy housewife. There <i>will</i> come a day, however, when I'll have to get off my duff and find a job and work out a carpooling schedule with Kel. I'm kind of excited, but I'm worried about how it'll all work out because the price of gas is getting ridiculous, and it doesn't help that we have a six-cylinder engine.
