Vermont Princess.
"There ain't no thing like me, 'cept me."
The Vermont Princess Creation Story: John Bassette and I were at Thetford Academy for the 2014 Vermont High School Cross Country State Championships to watch Kathryn and Matthew run. It was a beautiful, sunny day. We'd been there for several hours. We had to go to the bathroom. At the mile long row of port-a-potties.... So, you know, I waited my turn and was directed to an available potty. And I got in there and began trying to figure out how to levitate everything I had with me using the power of my mind so that nothing would actually touch a surface inside the potty. I managed to pull off a pretty impressive combination of MacGyver and Cirque de Soleil moves to pee without leaving a trace and exited my unit to find John slathering his hands with hand sanitizer (I thought, "IT'S TOO LATE FOR THAT! NOT GOING TO HELP!"). I'm pretty sure I looked at least semi frazzled.
I said: "Porta-a-potties aren't really my thing." John said: "Yeah, you're kind of a Princess. Not all the time. But definitely some of the time."
Me: "Yes John and I do the extra work necessary to BE that princess!"
