Bio
I began researching my family’s Swedish roots in 1999. I initially used the typical sources: family members, FamilySearch.org, Ancestry.com, Cyndi’s list. I purchased Family Tree Maker (Version 7.0; I have since upgraded to FTM 2010)
It was, and continues to be, an intriguing hobby. My children were 9 and 11 years old. It was an activity that I could do at home, on the computer, while the kids did homework. I love doing the research. I became hooked! Since that time, my husband and I have visited Sweden on three occasions. On each trip we have taken excursions to the cities, neighborhoods and homes my family lived in prior to their emigration. I am particularly interested in the STORIES that I encounter along the way. Old letters, newspaper articles, and the houses my family lived in all connect me with these fascinating people and their lives.
