Bio
An IEMA certified Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility Practitioner, David has been a strong environmental advocate since college.
David literally grew up in the printing industry and as a young teen was an addressograph operator and skilled mailroom "handworker" at his father's printing and mailing company, and later became a pressman and film stripper -- seeing first hand the industry's toxicity.
A teacher for fifteen years both in the United States and Japan, David worked with disciples of Fukuoka-sensei, author of the natural farming classic "One Straw Revolution" (Ware Ippon no Kakumei). From this experience, David learned that sustainability was more than simple actions to protect our environment, it was a path, a Japanese "do" or way of being connecting everyone to all that surrounds us.
He returned to the States to help his ailing father with the family printing business and has since advocated for both improving the industry's sustainability and our society's relationship to our environment.
