Bio
We are Charmaine and Simon, and we love steamboat.
When it comes to investing, we believe in the steamboat philosophy. In order to enjoy a sumptuous steamboat meal, you must know how to cook a good steamboat. Choose a soup base that you like. Always put the vegetables in first, follow by the seafood. These will make the soup very sweet. A good steamboat usually consists of 10-15 ingredients, e.g. 4 types of mushrooms, 4 types of green leafy vegetables, fishballs, meatballs, carrots, corn, beef strips, pork strips, etc. The ingredients are the main course, the soup is the side dish that you can sip every now and then while waiting for the steamboat to cook.
In the same vein, investing is like steamboat. You must understand how the market works and the companies that you invest in. Choose a brokerage that best suits you. Investment portfolio should be well diversified, consisting of ETFs, blue chips, and others. Always be patient, synonymous to waiting for the steamboat to cook. While waiting for capital appreciation, why not savor on the dividends?
We started investing in October 2015. For the year of 2016, we aim to receive $2,000 of dividends, which will of course be rolled back into the market.
