Bio
Welcome to WhereInDC! First, a little bit about me:
• I work in PR for a firm in DC but do not work for any restaurants so my recommendations are not “bought and paid for” by anyone
• I am not a chef nor have I ever taken a cooking class
• I love to cook, eat, and visit with friends
• I believe the kitchen is one of the best rooms in a house (or in my case, apartment)
• I believe there are few things better than good food, good wine, and good friends
• I will eat almost anything, but absolutely refuse to eat sweet breads and veal (am sure there are more things on the list, but that’s all I can think of for now)
• If I had to eat only one ethnicity’s food, it’d be Japanese (so versatile – can eat sushi to noodles to fried tofu)
• I believe good food doesn’t need to be expensive
• I believe that atmosphere is extremely important for your dining experience
• I believe that you should be full after you eat (hate those places where you’re still hungry after your meal)
• I believe chocolate makes life better
• I was a busser, waitress, hostess, bartender (as well as a hotel receptionist, deli worker, grocery cashier, and retail employee) – so I do know what happens in restaurants
• I do not believe the customer is always right (see above for the reason)
This blog will be mostly musing about restaurants in the Washington, DC area. But I’ll also post on various food shows, recipes, and anything else that relates to food.
I will try to take photos to “spice up” my blog, but just a warning that my camera isn’t super fancy so the photos won’t be amazing. But, I’ll try!
Everything posted on this blog is my personal opinion and does not necessarily represent the views of my employer or its clients.
