Bio
Mary Fowler is a writer and thinker. That is to say, she is a tycoon, wheeling and dealing in words: the small change of the universe. As it happens–perhaps, but not insignificantly–she is a vast under-achiever. You have never heard of her. She has taken a very small life, and baked it a very long time.
THESE pages are free play–means to ease the brain, take a ride, feel a breeze.
They contrast with her major work, Confusions in the Capitalist Dream, where she dares to show how Maslow’s “State of Thriving” trumps markets’ Profit Motive, and claims that in order to reclaim the century’s best problem-solving minds to human goals, money must be withdrawn from our commerce. There is no other way.
