Bio
A while ago, ground down with having my brain and eyeballs fried by staring at a computer screen all day, I left my sitting-behind-a-desk job and managed to secure a lowly position in a garden centre. I will call it The Muddled Marigold. Tearing along in a near-constant state of low-level chaos (why is the tape measure never where it’s supposed to be? And why does the electricity keep shorting out?), it is a place to which unexpected characters seem to gravitate.
I’ve found that I rather like my much-reduced level of responsibility, partly because it means that when the tearing along slows, periodically, as it does, to a gentle wobble, I have time to observe. So this is a series of short tales, put together from my encounters with customers and colleagues. The world becomes far more intriguing and multi-dimensional once you have the mental space to ponder. And most people have a story to tell if you have the time and the inclination to listen. Some are comical, some are moving or heart-warming and some are - well, you’ll see.
