Bio
Wendell George bio – My great grandfather was Chief Chilcosahaskt of the Entiat Tribe. My grandfather was Lahompt (Chief Koxit George). My Dad, Moses, was a member of the first Tribal Council of the Colville Confederated Tribes. I served on the Tribal Council and was CEO of the Tribal Enterprises.
Before moving back to the Reservation I worked for fifteen years for Boeing as an electronics engineer after graduating from Washington State University. The highlight was helping land a man on the moon as part of the Apollo Manned Space Program.
Until retiring I operated a cattle ranch in Kartar Valley. My wife, Barbara, and I have had six children and six grandchildren and now live in Omak with three of our grandchildren.
I have written two books; Last Chief Standing and Coyote Finishes the People. The Wenatchee World has published thirty-two of my articles on tribal culture and history. I have consolidated these articles into a book called Go-La’-Ka Wa-Wal-Sh (Raven Speaks).
