Youth Emergency Services & Shelter (YESS) meets the critical needs of the community by providing a continuum of quality programs designed to keep children safe and families together. Since 1973, YESS has evolved to provide families with around-the-clock access to emergency shelter and crisis care. As the largest youth shelter and the only crisis nursery of its kind in the state of Iowa, YESS serves over 1,200 children each year, birth through age 17, providing quality emergency shelter, respite, crisis care, and counseling services in an effort to heal families and change lives every day.
