Bio
I am a 39 year old woman who strives for boundless love and authenticity despite what others think. I can't live without laughter and always keep it real-- But I know how to do so gently. I love creativity in whatever shape it takes, sophistication without airs, foodies, music that I can dance to, candid photographs, beautiful things that don't cost a bundle (think Anthropologie on sale), jewelry from around the world, writing, and traveling (Honeymooning on a safari in Africa was one of the highlights of my life). I have a serious case of wanderlust and am always planning my next adventure. I am a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who finds the most joy in life being with the people that I love in the simplest moments (you, me and a cup of coffee), and by my own admission I am also a people-pleaser. I am a cancer survivor and thriver, having been diagnosed with ocular melanoma in December of 2005, and Stage IV liver melanoma in August of 2013. I am a cancer advocate and volunteer. I have been a social worker for the past 13 years and have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. In February of 2016 I was invited to be a speaker for the Schwartz Center for Compassionate Care at the Miriam Hospital in Rhode Island. I am a work in progress and always will be if I want to continue to grow as a person and sink my teeth into living the best life possible as a cancer thriver. Now is the time in my life to focus on my own truth and to help you find yours!
