Bio
I am a microbiologist with ̴ 10 years of research experience in molecular virology (DNA and RNA viruses). My current research work is focused on the Kaposi's sarcoma associated herpes virus (KSHV) entry and trafficking in host cells. I have been studying the virus-host protein-protein interactions that lead to viral productive infection. I am also actively engaged in research work on innate immune response generated during herpes virus infection. I have standardized several post transcriptional gene silencing strategies (siRNA, Ribozymes, DNAzymes) on various strains of human influenza viruses (H1N1, H3N2, Inf B) and successfully demonstrated the down-regulation of virus replication in celllines and mice model. Besides this, I have extensively worked on the surveillance and epidemiology of influenza and RSV in India.
I am currently serving as the life member of more than 10 Scientific/learned societies working on virology and biotechnology and have been the editor and reviewer for few scientific journals.
