Bio
In 1988, at the age of 20, Nick Young began teaching music at his mother's Montessori school in Long Beach, CA. Over the next five years, Nick provided daily music instruction for his students and, with the help of his mother, now a professor of child development at El Camino College, developed methods of working effectively with children.
Nick later became a teacher's aid at Montessori Greenhouse in Garden Grove, CA, were he spent two years sharing his musical skills with preschool and school age children. In 1998, Nick used his classroom experience and original songs and activities to create a mobile music program for children. He called it The Young Music Company. The business has been growing steadily ever since.
Today, Nick and his staff of personally trained instructors teach thousands of children a week at more than 60 different schools in Los Angeles and Orange County.
Nick is the author of three children’s CD’s: Rockin’ & a Boppin, Songs of the Sea and Super Kids.
Additionally, Nick has worked with the TIMMAS Program - Training in Multicultural Music And Story Telling.
In 2011, Nick created the Amazing Kazoom Band Children’s Concert. This exciting, live children’s music show features a full, live band. Hundreds of children have experienced this exciting event.
Nick Young has presented many fun and exciting concerts, music workshops and music groups at the the Long Beach Aquarium, the SEA Lab in Hermosa Beach, El Camino College the Best Arts and Children’s Home Society teacher’s conferences, and many other schools, churches, libraries etc.
