I don’t understand anything about this

    First of all, I just paid 20 bucks for a domain name. Yet my domain name according to wordpress now is domainnamecom.wordpress.com. I paid for it? I don’t understand what I paid for now because apparently I don’t even have the domain name.

    Secondly the website editor is very confusing. Why can I only resize images vertically but not horizontally? I just want to make a very simple website but I feel like I might as well ask for my money back now.

    Context: I used to make websites with Adobe Muse which though it’s outdated is so much more intuitive than WordPress. Please if anyone could help me out that would be great because I tried googling and the help menu but I can’t find the answers to these seemingly simple questions.
