Portfolio doesn’t appear

  With the standard ‘Portfolio’ plugin I made a test page of a portfolio item. This looks ok when tested.
  But when I want to add it to a page, I make a new page and add the code [portfolio]
  It displays the categories ‘all’ and ‘recent’, but they are empty and the only text I get is ‘It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.’
  I am looking to solve this problem for some hours now, but cannot find what is wrong!
