Transfer domain to wordpress site

  I would like to transfer the following website: https://www.bockstael.be/nl/ to a wordpress website. Is it true that this might take 7 days and the website will be offline during the transfer?

  To avoid a downtime, you can point the NS (name server) records to the new host before you initiate the domain transfer. This will ensure that as long as the domain haven’t been transferred completely, it points to the site already and the site can be accessed during the transfer.

  You’re not trying to transfer your domain https://www.bockstael.be/ to WordPress.com though, are you? I’m asking as based on https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-pricing-and-available-tlds/ the top-level-domain *.be is not supported by WordPress.com yet.
