Unwanted contact/comment page

Hi there, i am new to wordpress but have created a simple page (just one page). This morning i started getting notifications that comments had been left on my page (but there is no contact form or anything like that). When i looked into it, it appears a /contact page exists of my website where people can leave comments. I have specifically made my page a simple plain page to get rid of these kind of comments (usually spam). Does anyone know how i can get rid of this extra /contact page?? It doesn’t show up under pages on my dashboard. Comments for my main page have been switched off. I did manage to enable a setting that people need to be logged in to leave a comment (through settings >> discussion) but i don’t want this page to exist altogether… Any ideas to get rid of it would be much appreciated!
