  I received an email from a new follower and I don’t think this is someone real. I saw that I can just remove this user, correct? is there a better way to control this?

  Hi there!

  As your site is public on My Site > Settings > Privacy, anyone can start following it. So, it is not possible to block it.

  If you want to, it is possible to delete followers on My Site > People > Followers, though.
