Reading a structured math expression in WP.com w/ a screenreader

I saw that WP.com don’t support MathML but support Latex to write math expressions. That’s OK, but it’s unacceptable the transformation that WP.com did to the Latex expressions. Transform a structured language in a flat element losing all the structure of the math expressions. In WP.com the final result of a math expression inputed in Latex is an image (!?). An image that is beautiful to people that use the eyes to see the screen but unavailable to someone that is blind or even for people that can’t access the image, for any reason. The alt text (alternative text) of this image is, again, Latex (!?). In our days assistive technologies like VoiceOver allows us to read and navigate through the math expressions in a ‘comprehensive reading aloud’ or with a ‘comprehensive braille’ transformation. Transform Latex to images is back to the 90s. Why WP.com don’t follow the accessibility path and support MathML?
