    Hello.

I have a very simple website on Weebly that I would like to transfer to WordPress so that I can add new content. In addition, I already have the domain paid for by another provider.

How can I do this and is it free?

    Thank you.

  • Hi there!

I am glad you have come to WordPress.com for your hosting, you’ll find the best of hosting here with us. We have guidance available to import your content from Weebly, and I’d recommend starting from that so you can migrate as much content as possible:

You can transfer your Weebly site contents directly to your WordPress.com site using automated migration. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to move your site’s pages, posts, comments, and any media items, including photos, videos, and embedded files. Your theme, custom domain, and personal settings will not be transferred over, but we’ll provide additional instructions you can follow in

Once you do that, you can add your existing domain to the site by following these steps.

Regarding cost, it really depends on the kind of site you’re creating here with us. If you could let us know a little bit more about the kind of website you’re planning to build, I can help you choose a plan that will serve your needs! At the very least I would recommend a Personal plan so you could use your existing domain as the primary address of your site once finished, but your site requirements may mean you should take advantage of a higher plan.

Let us know how we can continue to help, take care, and welcome to WordPress.com!
