Update the pages and navigation of an AI-created website

After creating your site with the AI website builder, you can customize the site using AI prompts. This guide will show you how to use AI to finalize the pages and navigation menus on an AI-generated site.

You can use the AI website builder for free to create a new site. Upgrade to a Premium or Business plan to launch the site publicly.

You can continue to update, edit, and add content to your website both with AI and by manually editing. To work on your site with AI:

1. Visit your Sites page.
2. Select your site and click the “My Home” button.
3. The next step depends on the site’s plan:
   • Free trial sites will arrive directly in the editor to resume editing.
   • Upgraded sites will arrive in the site’s dashboard, where you can navigate to Appearance → Editor and click on the homepage preview on the right to resume editing.
4. Enter your prompt in the sidebar:

You can expand your site by creating new pages:

1. In the AI prompt box, type a prompt such as:
   “Create a Team page for my business.”
   “Create a Menu page for my restaurant.”
2. Review the new page layout. The AI may provide you with multiple layouts to cycle through using the left and right arrow buttons.
3. Once you have selected your preferred page, click the Save button.

You can also manually add new pages to your site.

To switch between pages while editing your site, follow these steps:

1. At the top of the screen, click the current page name to open the search command box. Or, on your keyboard, press Cmd+k on Mac or Ctrl+k on Windows.

2. Search for the page title you wish to edit, such as Blog, Services, or Home.
3. Click the result to edit that page.

Alternatively, you can select the page in your dashboard by clicking on Pages (after upgrading from the free trial).

You can use AI to modify navigation links and social media buttons in the site’s menu:

1. In the editor, select your menu area.
2. In the AI prompt box, type a prompt such as:
   “Add a Blog link to the navigation.”
   “Replace Services link with Portfolio.”
   “Add Facebook and Twitter icons to the footer menu.”
   “Update the location of the Team link to /who-we-are”
3. Check the change to ensure the menu item leads to the correct page.
4. Click the Save button to save the change or the backwards arrow icon to undo the change.

You can also edit menu items manually if more control is needed.
