Edit the text of an AI-created website

After creating your website with the AI website builder, you can customize the content using AI prompts. This guide will show you how to use AI to finalize the text on an AI-generated site.

You can use the AI website builder for free to create a new site. Upgrade to a Premium or Business plan to launch the site publicly.

You can continue to update, edit, and add content to your website both with AI and by manually editing. To work on your site with AI:

1. Visit your Sites page.
2. Select your site and click the “My Home” button.
3. The next step depends on the site’s plan:
   • Free trial sites will arrive directly in the editor to resume editing.
   • Upgraded sites will arrive in the site’s dashboard, where you can navigate to Appearance → Editor and click on the homepage preview on the right to resume editing.
4. Enter your prompt in the sidebar:

Your website will include AI-generated text that you can edit as needed. You can click on any block of text and manually type new text to replace it.

You can also prompt AI to generate new text as follows:

1. Click on the section or text block you want to update.
2. Use one of the suggested prompts that appear above the prompt box or type your own. For example:
   “Rewrite the About section to sound friendlier and more welcoming.”
   “Make the introduction shorter and more professional.”
   “Translate this paragraph into French”

3. Click the Save button to save the change or the backwards arrow icon in the top navigation to undo the change.

To update your site’s fonts using AI, follow these steps:

1. In the AI prompt box, type a prompt such as: “Change the fonts” or “Change the heading font to something bold and modern.”
2. You will be provided with font options in the format “Aa” where the upper case ‘A’ represents the font that will be used for the headings, and the lower case ‘a’ represents the font of the body text used throughout the site.
3. Click on a font suggestion to see how the text looks on your site.
4. Once you have selected your desired font, click the Save button to save the change.

To manually select a font, navigate to Appearance → Editor → Styles → Typography, and select a new font (not available on the free trial).

To replace links in your text and buttons:

1. Click the text, button, or menu item with the link you want to change.
2. Type a request in the AI prompt box such as:
   “Change the ‘Learn More’ button to link to /about-us.”
   “Set the ‘Buy Now’ button to link to https://acustomdomain.com.”
3. Check the change to ensure the link leads to the correct page.

You can also manually add new links and edit existing links.

AI websites will often include links to your Facebook, Instagram, and other social media profiles. Until you provide your personal URLs, the links will only contain placeholders. Follow these steps to update the links to your own:

1. Click the social media link you want to update.
2. Type a request in the AI prompt box such as:
   “Change the Facebook icon to facebook.com/my-facebook-page”
   “Make this text link to my Instagram page at instagram.com/my-insta-page”
3. Check the change to ensure the link leads to the correct location.

You can also manually add and update your social media links.

The possibilities are endless with AI website building. Here are more sample prompts of text changes you can ask the AI to do for you:

1. Change the main heading to “Welcome to Our Adventure!”
2. Update the About section with “We are passionate explorers.”
3. Rewrite the team bios to sound more friendly.
4. Edit the Contact page to include our new phone number: (555) 123-4567.
5. Change the call-to-action button to say “Get Started Now.”
6. Make the paragraph under the Services section more detailed.
7. Update the product descriptions for clarity.
8. Rewrite all testimonials to be more concise.
9. Translate the homepage text to Spanish.
10. Change the blog intro to “Latest Updates & Stories.”
11. Edit the footer to include “© 2024 All Rights Reserved.”
12. Make all the headings bold on the Portfolio page.
13. Add a question to the FAQ section: “How can I contact support?”
