To verify your account or purchase without an email receipt, check your credit card statement for transaction details. For some payments processed through WordPress.com, a 9 or 10 character transaction code appears on your bank or credit card statement. The charge is labeled as one of the following, depending on the purchase:
- WPCHRG.COM
- WordPress
- Akismet
- dotBlog
- Jetpack
- Crowdsignal
- VaultPress
- WooCommerce
- WP VIP
- Automattic
- Aut O’Mattic Ltd.
You may also see WP* appear in front of the above labels. For example, the full transaction description on your credit card statement may look like WP*WordPress XXXXXXXXX, WP*Akismet XXXXXXXXX, or similar, where XXXXXXXXX is the transaction code.
If your statement displays the digits 8772733049 next to the transaction or no code is present at all, your payment may have been made through PayPal. Please refer to the next section to locate transaction IDs for payments processed via PayPal.
If you paid with your PayPal account, you can find the transaction number via your email receipt or by logging into your PayPal account.
At the time of the transaction, you will have received an email receipt from PayPal. The Transaction ID will appear in the email receipt from PayPal.

To locate the transaction ID in your PayPal account, follow these steps:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Select the Activity tab:

- Browse through your account’s transactions or filter by date to select the period in which the purchase was made.
- Click on any transaction titled Automattic Inc. to view details about the purchase.

The Billing History page shows a record of all transactions made in your account. If you cannot locate a transaction there, the purchase was likely made with a different WordPress.com account than the one you’re currently logged in to. Try logging out of that account and logging in to any other accounts you own. If you’re not sure what account is associated with the charge, fill out our account recovery form with at least one of the requested fields.
