Last reviewed on May 6, 2026

You can move your site to WordPress.com from almost any platform. This guide covers import options for sites built with WordPress and other platforms. If you know what kind of site you are importing, select the option from the table of contents in this guide.

Import from WordPress.org

A WordPress.org site (also called self-hosted WordPress) is a WordPress site you host yourself (including sites developed locally) or with a third-party hosting provider like Bluehost, SiteGround, or GoDaddy.

  • Self-service migration: Best for most users who want a hands-off experience. Imports content, media, plugins, and themes.
  • All-in-One WP Migration plugin: Best for users familiar with plugins who want more control. Imports content, media, plugins, and themes.
