Reorder menu items

In the Site Editor, your menu comes from the Navigation block. You can reorder the menu links or nest them to create submenus or drop-down menus.

Follow these steps to reorder the items in your menu:

1. Visit your dashboard.
2. Go to Appearance → Editor.
3. Select the template or template part you want to edit, or click on the site preview on the side of the screen to open the homepage editor.
4. Open List View in the top-left corner of your screen (it’s the icon that looks like three horizontal lines above each other.)
5. Select the Navigation block, which may be nested inside other blocks like Header, Group, and Row.
6. You can then move a menu item using one of several methods:
   • Click and drag the menu item in List View.
   • Use the move option in the menu item’s toolbar.
   • Click and drag the menu item using the block settings in the right sidebar.
7. Click the Save button to save your changes.

On sites with classic themes, you can reorder menu items using WP Admin.

1. Visit your dashboard.
2. Go to Appearance → Menus.
3. Ensure the correct menu is selected at the top of the screen.
4. Click and drag a menu item above or below another item to change its order in your menu.
5. Click the “Save Menu” button to save your changes.

On sites with classic themes, you can reorder menu items using the Customizer by following these steps:

1. Go to Appearance → Customize → Menus.
2. Choose your menu.
3. Click on the “Reorder” link that you’ll find underneath the list of your menu items.
4. Click the ˆ up or ˇ down arrows to move a menu item up or down in the menu.
5. Click the right and left arrows to nest or un-nest pages under other pages, creating a drop-down menu.
6. Click the “Save Changes” button to apply the changes to your site.

You can also drag and drop a menu item without needing to click the “Reorder” button first.
