Choose the Commerce plan (formerly known as the Entrepreneur plan) for everything you need to create a powerful, profitable website to sell products and services. This guide explains what’s included in the WordPress.com Commerce plan.

Included in the Commerce plan

The Commerce plan gives you:

E-commerce features are provided by our WooCommerce plugin, which we automatically install with your Commerce plan. The Commerce plan expands upon the WooCommerce plugin with:

Below is a detailed list of extensions and features included in the Commerce plan:

Products and merchandising

  • Product Add-ons: Offer extra products and services that complement your products. Gift wrapping, a special message, extended warranty, insurance, customizations, and more. Getting paid

  • WooPayments: Accept online payments, track revenue, and handle all payment activity from your store’s dashboard with the solution built and supported by WooCommerce. If WooCommerce Payments is not supported in your country, you can choose a gateway that works for your region.
  • In-Person Payments: Accept in-person payments using WooCommerce Payments and an approved card reader. Enjoy seamless inventory sync and payment collection with cards, swipe, tap, and contactless payment options. Currently available for stores based in the U.S. or Canada.
  • EU VAT Number: Give EU businesses with a valid VAT number the choice to pay tax at your store.

Design

On the Commerce plan, you can upload any WordPress theme from the many thousands of designs by any theme creator or even a theme you designed yourself.

Taxes

Use one of the following included extensions to simplify your tax processes in your store:

Commerce plan free trial

You can sign up for a 14-day free trial of the Commerce plan that creates a new site on your WordPress.com account. The free trial lets you test a limited set of the commerce features before purchasing to evaluate whether the plan meets your store’s needs.

The free trial includes these restrictions:

  • Your store remains in “Coming Soon” mode. When you’re ready to launch your site, upgrade to the paid Commerce plan.
  • You cannot install or manage additional plugins during the free trial, other than the plugins that come installed with the plan.
  • You will have access to all the themes in our Theme Showcase. Upgrade to the paid plan to install third-party themes.
  • While on the free trial, you will not have access to hosting features like SFTP, SSH, or phpMyAdmin.
  • VideoPress uploads are limited to one video on the free trial.
  • Site admins can test the end-to-end purchase flow using WooPayments or one of our recommended payment gateways during the free trial. Upgrade to the paid Commerce plan when you’re ready to accept payments from customers.

All limitations are removed when you upgrade to the paid Commerce plan. Visit Hosting → Plans from your site’s dashboard to complete your upgrade.
