You can connect your WordPress.com blog to a professional Instagram account (business or creator) so your blog posts are automatically shared on your Instagram feed. In this guide, you will learn how to connect your WordPress.com blog to Instagram.
You can connect a professional Instagram account (business or creator) to your site so that posts from your WordPress.com website are automatically shared to Instagram. Your professional Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook page to post automatically from your site.
If you don’t have a professional Instagram account, see Instagram’s help guide on how to set one up.
To automatically share your website’s posts to your Instagram account, follow these steps:
- From your site’s dashboard, navigate to Jetpack → Social.
- Click the “Connect an account” button.
- In the Manage Jetpack Social connections screen, click the Connect button next to Instagram Business.

- In the new window that opens, connect your professional Instagram account using the associated Facebook account.
- Sign in to the associated Facebook account.
- Click continue if you are already connected to the associated Facebook account.
- Select the Facebook page connected to your Instagram Business account and click the Next button.
- Select the permissions you wish to grant WordPress.com and click the Done button.
- We recommend enabling all permissions to ensure auto-posting works as expected.
- On the next screen, click the OK button for confirmation and then click the Confirm button to complete the process.
Now, when you share a post, it will be automatically shared to your professional Instagram account.
Occasionally, the connection between Instagram and WordPress.com might get disconnected. Taking the following steps will solve most issues:
- From your site’s dashboard, navigate to Jetpack → Social.
- Click the down arrow next to your connected Instagram account.
- Click the Disconnect button and confirm that you want to disconnect your account.
- In your Instagram account, remove the connection to the Jetpack app by following Instagram’s instructions for managing app permissions.
- If there is no Jetpack app listed here, you can skip this step.
- Back in your WordPress.com account, navigate to Jetpack → Social and follow the steps to connect to Instagram Business again.
If you are running into issues connecting, posting, or generally using the Instagram Business integration with your WordPress.com site, here are some common things to check:
- Check you have a professional Instagram account, not a personal account.
- Verify that your Instagram Business profile is linked to a Facebook page.
- Ensure that you approve the necessary permissions on the connections screen, including:
- “Manage your business”
- “Access profile and posts from the Instagram account connected to your Page”
- “Upload media and create posts for the Instagram account connected to your Page”
- If you’re not sure what permissions you selected, follow the steps to reconnect your Instagram Business account to select the correct permissions.
