Restore plugins and themes

You can restore default plugins and themes that are included with your plan. This guide explains what is restored and how to restore default plugins and themes.

This feature is available on plugin-enabled sites with our WordPress.com Personal, Premium, Business, and Commerce plans. If your site has one of these plans, make sure to activate it. For sites on the free plan, upgrade your plan to access this feature.

Default plugins and themes

When you upgrade to a plugin-enabled plan, we add the following useful plugins to the site:

You can deactivate or even delete these themes and plugins, except Jetpack and Akismet. However, we also understand if you accidentally deleted plugins or themes initially added to your site and want to restore them.

Restore default plugins and themes

To restore the plugins and themes that came with your plan, take the following steps:

  1. Visit your Sites list in the dashboard.
  2. Click the site you want to restore the default plugins and themes.
  3. Navigate to the Settings tab.

  1. Scroll to the “Re-install plugins & themes” section.
  2. Click the button labeled “Restore”. Your request will be processed within a few minutes.
