Note: Anyone with the direct link to your digital file can access it without payment. For enhanced security and controlled access to digital products, consider using WooCommerce instead.
You will want to make sure the following is set up so that you can create the payment button:
- Connect your site to Stripe to accept payments.
- Upload your digital file(s) to your site’s media library.
To sell a digital download using the Payment Buttons block, follow these steps:
- Visit your site’s dashboard and click Jetpack → Monetize.
- Click the Payment Settings tab and then click the“Add a new payment plan” button
- Configure your plan by setting up the following sections:
- Describe the plan: Give the payment a memorable name. This name will appear in the email receipt your customers receive.
- Renewal frequency: Select the “one-time sale” option from the drop-down menu.
- Amount: Set the currency and amount for the cost of the product.
- Welcome message: Include a link to the digital product file. You can upload files like PDFs to your site’s Media.
- Leave the “Paid newsletter tier” toggle off, and adjust any advanced options as needed.
- Click the “Save” button to save your digital product.
- Insert a payment button on your site and select the new payment plan.
