Increase the number of columns

If you already have a set of columns and wish to add or remove columns, there are two methods to do so.

Add a new column at the end

To add a new column to the end of an existing set of columns, take the following steps:

  1. Select List View in the top-left corner of the editor. It’s the icon that looks like three horizontal lines above each other.
  2. Locate the Columns block here and click on it:
A list of blocks, with Columns selected.
  1. In the Columns block settings sidebar on the right side of the screen, locate the number of columns:
Number of columns setting, with 3 shown.
  1. Increase the number in this setting to add more columns, up to a maximum of six.
    • Decreasing the number will remove the last column. If you accidentally delete a column, click the undo button at the top left of the screen to reverse your latest action.
  2. Click the “Save” button to save your changes.

Add a new column in between

To add a new column in between other existing columns, take the following steps:

  1. Open List View (the icon that looks like three horizontal lines at the top left of the screen).
  2. Locate a single Column block here and click on it:
A list of blocks with a single column block selected.
  1. In the toolbar that appears above or below the column, click the ⋮ button.
  2. Click “Add before” to add a new column before the selected column, or “Add after” to add a new column following the selected column. You can display a maximum of six columns.
  3. Once the new column is added, click the + (block inserter) to add content to the new column.

You can also select an individual column using the block toolbar, and then add a new column in between:

Duplicate a column

To add a new column that’s an exact copy of the content of an existing column, take the following steps:

  1. Select the single Column you wish to duplicate, either by using List View or the block toolbar. The single Column block is represented by an icon that shows a set of three columns, with one column shaded in black.
  2. Click the ⋮ button to reveal additional block options.
  3. Select the “Duplicate” option.

Swap the column order

To reorder columns, follow these steps:

  1. Select a single Column you wish to move to a different position, either by using List View or the block toolbar.
  2. In the toolbar that appears above or below the selected column, click the left or right arrows to move the selected column one spot to the left or right.
  3. Continue clicking the arrow until the column is in the desired position within the set.
  4. Repeat the process for any other columns you want to reorder.
  5. Click the “Save” button to apply your changes to the page.

Delete a column

To delete a single column from a set of columns, follow these steps:

  1. Select the single Column block, either by using List View or the block toolbar.
  2. In the toolbar that appears above or below the selected column, click the ⋮ icon.
  3. Select the “Delete” option to remove the column.
  4. The selected column will be removed, and the remaining columns will adjust accordingly.
  5. Click the “Save” button to apply your changes to the page.

To delete an entire set of columns:

  1. Select the existing Columns block, either by using List View or the block toolbar.
  2. In the toolbar that appears above or below the columns, click the ⋮ icon.
  3. Select the “Delete” option to remove the entire Columns block.
