Export your site’s form responses as a CSV file or directly to Google Sheets. This guide shows you how to download your form data for analysis, backup, or integration with other tools.

Export form responses as CSV

A CSV (Comma Separated Values) file is a plain-text file format that stores data in a table structure, which can be used to import your form responses into other programs like Microsoft Excel or a mailing list tool.

To export your form responses as a CSV file, follow these steps:

  1. From your site’s dashboard, navigate to Jetpack → Forms.
  2. On the Responses tab, click the Export button at the top-right of the screen.

  1. In the CSV File section, click the Download button.

The CSV file will be saved to your computer, usually in your downloads folder.

You can also export an XML file of your form responses.

Export form responses to Google Sheets

You can connect your WordPress.com site to Google Drive and export your form responses directly to Google Sheets.

Step 1: Connect to Google Drive

First, connect your WordPress.com account to Google Drive by following these steps:

  1. From your site’s dashboard, navigate to Jetpack → Forms.
  2. Click the Export button (or the Integrations tab on sites with plugins installed.)

  1. Follow the prompts to grant WordPress.com access to your Google Drive account.

Your Google Drive will now be connected to all sites in your WordPress.com account. If you have added other users to your site, they will not have access to your Google Drive. Other users can connect their own Google Drive account.

Step 2: Export your form responses to Google Sheets

Once you have connected your WordPress.com account to Google Drive, follow these steps to export your form responses:

  1. From your site’s dashboard, navigate to Jetpack → Forms.
  2. Click the Export button at the top-right of the screen.
An arrow pointing to the "Export" button on the Responses tab of forms.
  1. In the Google Sheets section, click the Export button.
An arrow pointing to the "Export" button in the Google Sheets option of export.

A new file will be created in your Google Drive with the form responses.

Export specific form responses

You can export form responses from specific forms or within a specific date range by filtering to the forms you want to export.

Follow these steps to select specific forms before exporting:

  1. From your site’s dashboard, navigate to Jetpack → Forms.
  2. At the top of the Responses tab, you will have both a Search field and a Filter icon. When you hover over a form, you will also have a checkbox you can select.
    • Use the Search field to locate forms that have specific text, like the sender’s name or text in the form itself.
    • Use the Filter icon to filter forms by date or source (the name of the form.)
    • Or, click the checkbox next to each form in the list you want to export.
