Move or remove an image

In this guide, we’ll cover how to move an image up or down on your page, as well as how to align an image next to text or other images. 

You can move an image to another part of the page, post, or template by following these steps:

1. Start at your site’s dashboard.
2. Edit the page, post, or template where you added the image. 
3. Click the image you want to move. 
4. In the toolbar that appears when you click the image, use either the “Drag” icon or the “Move up”/ “Move down” arrows to move the image up or down in the editor. 

You can also use the List View to click and drag images to a different spot on the page.

You can wrap text around an image using the alignment options in the Image block toolbar. Follow these steps to wrap text around an image:

1. Start at your site’s dashboard.
2. Edit the page, post, or template where you added the image. 
3. Add a text block (paragraph, heading, etc.) below the image. 
4. Click on the image above the text that you want the text to wrap around. 
5. In the toolbar that appears when you click the image, use the “Align” icon to align the image to the right or the left:

6. The text will then wrap around the image using the remaining space.

Alternatively, the Media & Text block is a great way to align text and images side-by-side.

Using the Columns block, you can create columns to show images and other content next to each other. This is the best option if you wish to have multiple columns, such as an image, some text, and another image all in one row.

Follow these steps to create columns with content:

1. Start at your WordPress.com dashboard.
2. Edit a page, post, or template. 
3. Click the + block inserter icon in the editor and search for “Columns”.
   • A quick way to add columns is to type /columns where you see “Type / to choose a block.”
4. Choose the number of columns to display. 
5. Add images, text, buttons, and any other content. in each column. 

Delete an image and the Image block by following these steps:

1. Start at your WordPress.com dashboard.
2. Edit the page, post, or template where you added the image. 
3. Click on the image you want to delete.
4. In the toolbar that appears when you click the image, click the ⋮ icon and select “Delete” from the drop-down menu. You can also press the Delete key or the Backspace key on your keyboard.
