Edit your site tagline

Your site tagline appears in search engines and social networks and helps visitors understand what your site is about. In this guide, you will learn how to add the Site Tagline block, edit your tagline text, and customize the block’s appearance.

You can add a Site Tagline block to a page, post, or template. Usually, you’ll want to add your site title to a template so that it appears throughout your site.

To add a Site Tagline block to a template, follow these steps:

1. Go to your site’s dashboard.
2. Navigate to Appearance → Editor.
3. Click the right side preview to open the editor, or select a specific template to edit under Templates.
4. Click the + block inserter (plus icon) and search for “Site tagline”.
   • Or, type /site tagline wherever you see “Type / to choose a block” to use a shortcut.
5. Select the Site Tagline block icon.
6. Your current site tagline will appear in the block.
7. Click Save in the top-right corner to save your changes.

You can edit your site tagline directly in the Site Tagline block or through your site settings. Changes made to your tagline will update everywhere it appears on your site. To edit your tagline, follow these steps:

1. Click on your Site Tagline block.
2. Click directly on the tagline text to edit it.
3. Type your new tagline text.
4. Click the Save or Publish button.

Note: Changes made to the tagline in the block will update your site tagline globally, affecting all Site Tagline blocks and other places where your tagline appears.

You can also edit your site tagline through your site settings:

1. Visit your site’s dashboard.
2. Navigate to Settings → General.
3. Replace the text in the “Site tagline” field with your new tagline.
4. Click the “Save Changes” button.

You can change the alignment, colors, and other styling options for your Site Tagline block. To customize your site tagline, follow these steps:

1. Click on your Site Tagline block.
2. Use the alignment options in the block toolbar that appears to align your tagline left, center, or right.
3. In the block settings sidebar, adjust the following settings:
   • Color settings
   • Typography settings
   • Dimensions settings
   • Border settings
   • Advanced block settings
