Top Posts & Pages Block

Display your most popular content, including pages, posts, media, and products. This guide will show you how to add and configure the Top Posts & Pages block.

Add the Top Posts & Pages Block

To add the Top Posts & Pages block, click the + Block Inserter icon and search for “Top Posts & Pages”. Click to add the block to a page, post, or template.

Using your keyboard, you can also type /Top Posts & Pages on a new line and press enter to quickly add a new Top Posts & Pages block.

Add Content to the Block

When you first add the Top Posts & Pages block to your post or page, it will look like this:

By default, the Top Posts & Pages block will show your three most popular posts and pages based on the last seven days of traffic. In the block settings sidebar, you can customize the number of posts that appear, the stats period to use, and more.

Top Posts & Pages Block Toolbar

When you click on the block, a toolbar of options will appear above or below it:

The Top Posts & Pages block contains the following toolbar options from left to right:

  • Change block type.
  • Drag the block.
  • Move the block up or down.
  • Change width (wide or full width if supported by the theme)
  • Grid View
  • List View
  • More options.

Top Posts & Pages Block Settings

When you select a block, you will find additional block settings in the right sidebar. If you do not see the sidebar, you may need to click the Settings icon in the top-right corner to bring up the settings. This icon looks like a square with two uneven columns:

Block Settings

  • Number of Items to display: by default, this setting displays the top 3 posts. You can adjust the number of items to display up to 10 posts.
  • Stats Period: Select the time range during which views should be considered for a top post or page. The default stats period is 7 days, which will show the most viewed posts over the past week. If there is insufficient content with accumulated views during the selected period, the block will select random posts.

Top Posts & Pages Block Styles

In the block settings sidebar, click on the Styles icon to access the design settings for the block. The Styles icon is in the shape of a circle, with half of the circle filled in:
