Change a block type

You can convert a block to a similar type using the Transform option. For example, you can change a paragraph to a heading or a quote or an image to a gallery.

To change a block type, follow these steps:

  1. Select the block you want to change.
  2. Click the block icon in the block toolbar. For example, a Paragraph block will have a paragraph icon.
  3. Under Transform to, hover over a block type to see a preview with your content before applying it.
  4. Select the block type you want to switch to.
An arrow from the Transform icon to the Transform section, and a second from the Quote transform to the preview.

If the block type you want is not listed, the block cannot be converted to that type. Remove the block and add your desired block type instead.

Apply a style variation

Style variations are predefined visual looks you can apply to a block. They change a block’s appearance without converting it to a different block type. For example, the Image block offers Default and Rounded variations, and the Social Icons block offers Default, Logos only, and Pill shape variations.

To apply a style variation from the Transform option, follow these steps:

  1. Select the block you want to style.
  2. Click the block icon in the block toolbar. For example, a Social Icons block will have a share icon.
  3. Hover over a style variation to see a preview before applying it.
  4. Click a style variation to apply it.
An arrow from the Transform icon to the Styles option and a box around the preview on the right.

You can also find and apply style variations in the Styles tab in the block settings sidebar. Not all blocks offer style variations. Some examples of blocks that have style variations include:
