Login issue – two accounts on the same email.

    Hi,

I’m having a login issue with my old WordPress.com account and I’m hoping you can help.

I originally created an account around 2014 and used it actively until 2018, with a few logins in later years. I now need access to the wp-admin content from that time, but I can’t log in to the original account.

I still remember my username, and I even found my old password saved in an old browser’s password history. However, when I try to log in, WordPress.com says the password is incorrect. When I attempt a password reset, the reset emails and login links all go to a different WordPress.com account that I apparently created later — but on the same email address.

    This means:

    • I seem to have two separate WordPress.com accounts linked to the same email address.
    • All password reset emails default to the newer account, not the old one.
    • I found old confirmation emails from WordPress.com proving that the older account also used this same email address.
    • But I currently have no way to trigger a password reset specifically for the old account, because the system always routes the reset process to the newer one.

I need help with the following:

    1. Confirming that the old account still exists and is associated with my email address.
    2. Getting a password reset link for the older account specifically, or help regaining access through another verification method.
    3. Alternatively, separating the two accounts so password reset emails are sent correctly.

I can provide more details about the old account if needed (such as the blog URL, approximate activity period, or other verification information).

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Best regards,
    Kalle
