Twenty-eleven: How to set the homepage as a static page and get rid of the existing blog page

    I have used the theme twenty-eleven formerly and could easily decide which page should be the homepage. Just going in settings-writing… Now this is not possible any longer. I have created all pages, created a menu but I cannot get rid of a setting which is opening up as soon as I search for my domain. The page, a blog page says that ‘nothing is found’. How can I get rid of it? I work with wordpress.com, i.e. on-line
