Shortcodes

Shortcodes let you display the text to speech player and control how it behaves.

1. Basic usage: Inserts the Listen button and audio playback controls.

2. Target text by direction: Reads the nearest content relative to the shortcode position. Supported directions: above, below, left, right.

3. Target text by HTML selector: Reads content from a specific element using a tag, class, ID, or other selector.

4. Custom localization (lang): Sets the language of the TTS interface for a specific shortcode instance. This changes the UI language only, not the voice.

External Services

When a user opens a post or article and starts playing the audio, the audio is generated/served from your server — we do not make any API calls to our servers to create the audio.

All your plugin configurations, TTS API secret keys, and audio files are stored in your own self-hosted WordPress. This makes it private and secure.

When you open the plugin settings page in WP Admin, it makes an API call to our server to check the plan you are currently using.

Our server is live at https://services.reinventwp.com, and it is used for:

• Subscription authentication (via Freemius)
• Error logging

Data sent to our API: – Freemius user info (email, website URL, license, plan)

The plugin also connects to https://reinventwp.com, which is used for:

• Fetching active promotional offers shown in the plugin settings page
• Recording basic promo interaction events, such as display, dismiss, coupon copy, and CTA clicks
