Archiveo – Importer for the Wayback Machine
Archiveo helps you bring archived content back to life.
If a website or blog is no longer available, Archiveo allows you to browse its archived pages stored on the Wayback Machine (Internet Archive) and import selected pages directly into WordPress as drafts.
The plugin is designed for careful, manual recovery of content — nothing is published automatically, and you always stay in control.
Archiveo works entirely inside the WordPress admin area and focuses on simplicity, transparency, and safety.
What Archiveo Does
- Finds archived HTML pages for a given domain or URL
- Lets you browse and filter archived URLs
- Creates WordPress drafts from selected snapshots
- Preserves readable content while removing navigation, scripts, and clutter
- Works with the WordPress Block Editor (Gutenberg)
What Archiveo Does NOT Do
- It does not scrape live websites
- It does not bypass paywalls or access private content
- It does not automatically publish posts
- It does not guarantee copyright compliance
Archiveo only accesses publicly available snapshots provided by the Wayback Machine.
Typical Use Cases
- Recovering articles from a lost or expired website
- Rebuilding a blog after a hosting or domain failure
- Migrating old content that only exists in archive.org
- Researching or preserving historical web content
- Educational or archival projects
How It Works
